Job Description Summary: The Third Party Management & Controls Leader will build, develop, and lead a team within the First Line of Defense supporting the execution of the Third Party Management Policy. This role will identify innovative solutions, locate efficiency opportunities, and deliver best in class solutions for supporting the Third Party Management Program. The Third Party Management & Controls Leader will balance internal and external critical stakeholders, ensure operational efficiency & support a frictionless customer experience. This position will lead a global team of employees distributed across the world. The successful candidates should also be able to offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, agility to adapt to changing priorities at hand, and be able to effectively work and communicate collaboratively / cross-functionally with multiple teams located in different geographies. Candidate must have a hands-on approach, strong intellectual curiosity and attention to detail and organization, and a passion for achieving practical business impact.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Third Party Management Program leadership in the Second Line of Defense to support the execution and implementation of a third party risk management program across PayPal
- Lead a team of Risk Analysts who will review Third Party risk assessments, provide recommendations on control gaps and issues arising from the risk assessments, and support the First Line Business Units in validating remediation efforts
- Identify ways to improve business processes, user experience, and systems involved in the third-party life cycle (due diligence; on-boarding; monitoring; issue management and escalation; renewal, termination and exit) with an emphasis on a risk-based approach that is consistent and repeatable across risk dimensions
- Thorough understanding all relevant internal policies and external regulatory requirements applicable to the Third Party Management program
- Develop a working knowledge of all key third party relationships (current and planned), including out- or co-sourced vendors, third parties who originate products and/or services PayPal uses and/or offers, and third-party relationships in which PayPal’s name or brand is associated with or franchised by others.
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving Third Party issues
- Directly respond to the needs, requests, and concerns of executive and senior management staff participating in third party relationships. Escalate any issues related to risk assessment results or issues in the due diligence process to the appropriate stakeholder.
- Collaborates with global leaders on ideas for improvement, implementing strategy and plans, adjusting processes, and providing leadership guidance to the team
- Establish & communicate clear goals, objectives, and performance metrics/standards across the team
- Actively support and promote a culture of progress and ensure day-to-day quality & risk mitigation is maintained through periods of strategic change.

Core Competencies and Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years successfully leading a Third Party Management team
- 8+ years supervisory experience leading teams

- Ability to design/augment processes and implement change across a globally distributed workforce
- Exceptional critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; strong judgement, able to “see the forest through the trees”
- Creative, and able to translate a concept and bring it to reality

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver results in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment while keeping strategic thinking at the forefront of everything you do
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers; unrivaled communication and listening skills
- Facilitation skills; able to run large meetings, especially comfortable driving to decision and reinforcing accountability
- Strong written AND verbal communication skills
- Resilience, poise and grace under pressure
- Technically savvy; power user and evangelist for all internal control initiatives

Preferred :
- Successful track-record managing large scale teams in a large, multi-national company
- Expert knowledge of controls and Third Party Management principles
