Temporary Construction Site Superintendent

Job Overview & Principal Duties:

• NYC based General Contractor is seeking a temporary construction site superintendent w/ possibility of long term employment for a tenant fitout w/ a National Client in Wallingford, CT.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Temporary (Approx. 4-5 months) General Commercial Construction Superintendent Duties w/ experience in commercial projects.
• Supervise the day to day, in-field construction of a large commercial fit-out for a National Client, working in tandem w/ Construction Project Manager to implement planning and scheduling that will bring job to completion within budget and timeline.
• Review all contracts, drawings and specifications and develop on site plans and procedures
• Interface weekly w/ client reps, subcontractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, city or county officials & project managers
• Responsible for creating a safe working environment for all parties while on site, following OSHA guidelines, and implementing and maintaining the highest level of safety and quality.
• Work w/ and report directly to GC Project Manager and office staff to assure work is consistent with project estimates, contract drawings, local building codes, manpower and subcontractor responsibilities. Keep all necessary parties notified of any changes to project schedules and schedule delivery of materials and equipment in timely manner.
• Coordinate, direct and closely monitor activities and work of subcontractors, suppliers and company labor to ensure it is completed properly per the contract drawings and specifications.
• Ensure necessary permits and site signage is properly displayed on site at all times.
• Though daily email correspondence, keep all necessary project stakeholders informed of construction activities, upcoming milestones, unexpected events, deviations from construction drawings, upcoming calls or meetings, etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Educational requirements include 4 year college degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• Career experience must include at least 5 years of supervision in commercial construction projects.
• Familiar w/ OSHA regulations (required), OSHA training and certs (Preferred, not necessary).
• Commercial Construction experience includes construction means, methods, site safety procedures, equipment, tools and work procedures, as well as advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Excellent Written and oral communication.
• Understand how to effectively read and interpret contracts, plans, specifications, and sketches.
• Familiar w/ Procore and Microsoft office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Able to think quickly, develop solutions to complex problems and communicate effectively w/ on site trades and project managers.
• Carry out other instructions, directions and duties as the company may request from time to time.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
