Reports To: Executive Vice President

The Mental Health Center of Florida (MHCFL), division of Transformative Healthcare Solutions (THS), was founded in an effort to integrate the mental health needs of today’s individuals with state-of-the-art care at affordable prices. At MHCFL, our staff of nearly 60 fully credentialed therapists offer comprehensive psychological care for a broad spectrum of mental health issues and disorders. The MHCFL clinical team is Broward Sheriff’s Office Certified to provide services throughout Broward County’s jails. We also work extensively with the child welfare dependency system, via ChildNet, contracted through the Department of Children and Families, helping children and families in crisis; in addition to working on Human Trafficking cases.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Telehealth Technician serves as a key resource and liaison for the clinical environment in supporting the provision of patient care using telehealth technologies, which increases the facility residents’ (patients) access to MHCFL’s clinical services. The incumbent performs a full range of duties and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of telehealth services at the assigned location and between the assigned location and remote sites of care; as well as participating in the programmatic development and advanced support of the facility-wide telehealth program. He/She should exercise independent judgment and provide guidance to less experienced staff members with minimal direct supervision. In working with internal and external contacts, he/she must have an innate passion for learning while excelling at being mindful of details in an energetic, fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Coordinate, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and manage the inventory of telehealth technologies, including hardware and software with the assistance of IT.

· Coordinate facility set up and addressing issues for assigned patient and provider facilities, including telehealth resource-based scheduling.

· Arranges and completes test video calls with facility residents and staff members to prepare the resident for clinical encounters using telehealth technologies.

· Participate in performance improvement activities aimed at improving the efficiency of the patient and provider telehealth processes.

· Ensure patient care is delivered safely by following appropriate procedures for the cleaning and sanitation of clinical equipment and care of environment while following all patient safety guidelines, procedures, and protocols.

· Ensure the patient privacy is protected by complying with all information security and patient privacy regulations.

· Effectively communicate with clinical and administrative staff at the assigned local site and those located at remote sites of care.

· Develop a deep understanding of the company and field requests from internal and external contacts, making a point to be available, and approachable.

· Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.

· Performs other duties as assigned and modified at the Executive Vice President’s discretion.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or GED is required.

· Associate’s degree or certification in Technology, Telemedicine, Telehealth or a related field is preferred.

· Knowledge of proper maintenance and troubleshooting of telehealth equipment.

· Experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, or other mental health offices desired.

· Experience in client and customer relations.

· Excellent interpersonal skills.

· Experience with exercising discretion by determining the importance of issues, when and if to refer them, managing scheduling priorities, completing autonomous projects, etc.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not directly manage or supervise employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit or stand and work on a computer for prolonged periods; walk; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

TRAVEL:

This position does require travel primarily local during business hours.
