Primary Roles and Responsibilities-
Reviewing and updating tasks
Reviewing and updating emails
Executing/completing of open tasks for creating, editing and updating documentation
Generating tasks for a request if received by email
Following OEG’s Change Management Plan in support of new or updated documents
Following taxonomy and content plan for the Global Security Knowledge Portal (GSKP) Following procedures on SOP development and implementation
Includes following the Documentation Review/Approval SOP
Ensuring alignment between operational teams
Escalating blockers to team lead
Attending meetings on calendar based on current tasks/projects
Responding to incoming tasks from operational teams and adding the appropriate tags/subscribers
Responding to emails from operational teams
Soliciting for and respond to feedback via operational collaboration pages on Monday at noon as described in the OEG Collaboration Page SOP
Secondary Roles and Responsibilities-
Maintaining organizational charts for GSO
Providing updates to project manager/coordinator on projects status/tasks
Publish all significant documentation changes in coordination with OTD, OSSP, and other applicable stakeholders to ensure training, systems, and documentation are aligned. Minor changes (i.e. POCs, contact info, links, etc.) can be published as needed throughout the week.
Conducting audits on a regular basis in accordance with established procedures and audit cadences.
Consulting/Informing OTD of incoming tasks
Supporting all business reports (monthlys, QBRs, Annuals)
Development of google sites, folders, slides and documents

The Technical Writer supports the organization by creating, planning, developing, writing, editing, distributing, managing, and auditing documentation content to meet and execute operational and business objectives. He/she specializes in content and technology-based solutions to improve streamlined communication and process standardization, while performing gap analysis to assess opportunities.
The Technical Writer is a skilled and experienced writer with strong communications skills that will be responsible for working on technical documentation including but not limited to standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical manuals, process flowcharts, FAQs, and intranet/internet content for various departments and various clients. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for knowledge base/wiki development, KB content categorization, and KB management.
*While this position is slated as an in-office role Monday through Friday, all non-essential workers are currently working remotely until further notice and developments with the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Technical Writer will support Global Security Operations Team. GSO’s mission is to protect the people, property, and reputation of the organization.

Qualifications
Experience:
Familiar with Security writing or have experience in security field
Possess strong writing ability with excellent communication skills.
Be an analytical thinker who can help define and drive processes.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new technology.
Ability to apply copywriting skills to edit, review, and develop complete run books covering external and internal engagements, operating procedures, and methods of technical procedure documentation.
Ability to identify inconsistencies and deviations from language rules and guidelines.
Excellent interview and follow through skills, coupled with strong organizational skills and solid communication and interpersonal skills.
Excel at handling multiple projects and diverse activities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. HTML and wiki experience is a plus.
Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience and a degree in English, Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, or similar fields.
Systems:
Proficient with MS Suites: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, or similar fields; or equivalent practical experience
