- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience using content publishing tools to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content
- 3+ years of experience using Automated Version Controls Systems

We are looking for a technical writer to support data center design and products documentation, develop process documentation, and design and implement content management solutions using tools such as MadCap Flare or like. This includes gathering customer requirements, understanding the business needs, and designing solutions that meet them.
The ideal candidate shows serious obsession for customers. They have broad experience working on global, cross-functional content programs, and they have team leadership, program management, or project management experience. This person also has excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated leadership in delivering business results while working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. They have strong data analytics skills, and are comfortable working with Excel to identify trends and insights. Experience working within a team to deliver complex solutions is key.
Key job responsibilities
- Understands the Docs-as-Code approach towards technical documentation. Looks to automate documentation processes using git/ticketing systems and deployment pipelines.
- Publishes Markdown documents in Hugo (or similar static-site generators like Jekyll or MKDocs).
- Uses Pandoc (or other scripts) to produce documentation in both online and printed formats. (html or markdown to word and pdf)
- Confident in HTML/CSS and some knowledge of Javascript and possibly other languages such as Python/Ruby.
- Carries out standard proofreading / editing / writing duties. Writes for engineering audiences.
- Understands Content Management systems, taxonomies, the use of tags, categories and labels.
- Able to integrate documentation workflows with Jira / other ticketing tools (IMPORTANT).
- Knows AWS suite of products; EC2, S3, AWS Amplify, CodeCommit, Cloudfront.
- Provide and implement an industry-standard XML authoring system/content management solution for managing and maintaining all data center specific design and product documentation
- Support efficient and effective authoring by making it possible to reuse content across different design types
- Support document change process and periodic release of design documentation
- Implement document template and standardization across entire data center infrastructure product line
- Manage central repository for all technical documentation, access control etc.
- Develop and manage graphical user interface to overlay over content databases
- Independently follow designs and standards to develop and deliver conceptual, how-to, and API reference docs for AWS products
- Support release management team with quarterly publication of basis of design (BoD) documents.
- Developing and setting standards for engineering document control, and best practices. Drives process improvements across multiple organizations
- Controlling the numbering, naming, filing and formatting of all documents issued
- Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations
- Work with internal Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (CSAMEP) design teams for product and BOD document content
- Ability to write example code: Python, C++, R, or another programming languges
- Experience working with XML, markdown, rst, or other markup languages
- Familiarity with using and following a style guide
