Who You Are
As part of the OTA Product Delivery team you'll be joining a group of experienced software engineers responsible for managing and delivering over the air software updates to vehicles across the globe. This role will call on you to be responsible for working with multi-functional team members, GM business partners, and joint ventures to plan and implement the global delivery of OTA connected cloud systems. In this position, you can plan to work with hands on software deployment and configuration, issue triage, technical requirements' communication, global release management, and IT infrastructure maintenance (firewalls, cloud space, load balancers, etc). This area offers a dynamic environment where you'll be exposed to back office software development, vehicle specifications, and a multi-functional global reaching team. What You Do
- Work closely with business partners and engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle to define and craft the OTA experience
- Collaborate with architects on interconnected systems to propose additions and changes enabling new ground breaking uses to re-define the customer and driving experience
- Active member of the architecture team who has accountability for the development of the OTA back office
- Cross-team collaboration to define a well-organized system of components and applications to achieve business and consumer deliverables
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere in behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes favorable working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
- Keep in tune with industry-wide changes and trends of technology developments and application
- Maintain relevancy in understanding the OTA platform and the tools available in order to successfully plan work to meet target dates
Additional Job Description
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering
- At least 7+ years software development experience in the business environment
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) delivering production components in a business-critical software environment
- Hands-on experience of Infrastructure Admin concepts
- Source control software (SVN, Git or TFS)
- Direct experience crafting and delivering technical architecture documents (TAD)
- Working experience with fire walls, load balancers, and other networking items as related to setting up call flows, or prioritizing and/or reconfiguring a call flow
- Good understanding of application security, API Gateway,NGINX and F5
- Defines the data elements shared between this business unit and other units in the enterprise and the relationships between those data elements and people, process, and technology
- CI/CD Technologies / Best Practices (Artifactory, Black Duck, Chef, CARA, SonarQube and Jenkins, Build pipelines, GitFlow, etc )
- Experience with CDN and Amazon S3/Dell-ECS cloud storage services
- Microservices architecture, Pivotal Cloud Foundry layout, Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, Cassandra, Redis, Azure, and Maven
- Ability to operate with new technologies and willing to do proof of concepts
- Creative problem-solving skills that deliver elegant solutions to complex issues
- Experience SQL/Oracle
- Experienced in working with multi-functional/external teams like IT and enterprise architecture teams for the infrastructure and other needs
- Experience with Agile teams that have regular software delivery in cloud/ VMs / HADOOP platform, patching cycles, platform upgrades
