Tech Lead - Rentals

Redfin is a technology-powered real estate company that’s on a mission to redefine real estate in the consumer’s favor. Redfin is the #1 nationwide brokerage, and we help customers with all their real estate needs including finding homes, buying houses, selling houses (including selling them to us for cash), getting a mortgage, and transferring the title. We are launching a major new business venture to show rental listings on Redfin.com and we are looking for a tech lead to drive the critical projects that will make it happen. You will be expected to provide technical leadership and impact across multiple teams and projects in this venture. You’ll need to balance advocacy for our ambitious long-term technical vision with delivering results amidst our ever-evolving business needs. The Role

• You are an experienced, pragmatic architect with a proven track record of leading the design and development of complex large-scale software systems.
• You are a very hands-on coder who can also lead multi-person technical projects from initial design to launch
• Better those around you by driving team efficiency improvements, mentoring teammates to strengthen individual skills and share your learnings across the organization
• Work with your peers to plan long term roadmaps, design large-scale, performant systems, that can impact your team and the entire engineering organization

Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of industry experience in the area of full-stack development and technical lead
• Experience working with Java, AWS, Kafka, JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, Relational Database and SQL
• Experience working with complex web applications and backend service
• Experience working on web and backend service performance
• Experience with architectural patterns, system design, API design, and building large-scale applications
• The ability to handle ambiguity, communicate well with partner teams, and empathize with customers
