Job Description
ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY: Provides technical and clinical support to Anesthesiologists and Nurse Anesthetists by ensuring availability and proper functioning of anesthesia equipment and supplies. The anesthesia technician will assist with the placement of invasive catheters and preparation of the patient for induction and transport under the direction of the Anesthesiologist, CRNA and/or RN. Will clean, sterilize, disinfect routine anesthesia equipment while maintain supply stock par levels. May be necessary to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on call/call back status. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum six months experience within a surgical setting.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of healthcare professionals and multi-task.
  • Current LVN license in the State of Texas.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Currently licensed as a Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas.
  • Must have and maintain current BLS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with curriculum of the AHA for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
  • Certification (CER.A.T.T) through ASATT recommended within two years.
