Assist the supervisor to ensure the team adheres to the warehouse plan and supports production to meet delivery schedules and efficiency expectations. Assist team to ensure accountability for adherence to standards, policies and regulations. Proactively identifies and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives which affect their area(s) or cross functional areas.

Perform daily duties of function (receiving and material handler) in addition to lead responsibilities as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by using ACE tools and 5s principles.
  • Operate all Material Handling equipment.
  • Verification of receiving process through daily reports.
  • Ensure team maintains supplies and inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Verify transfers are completed to maintain location accuracy and periodically check location accuracy.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Performs team leader duties while also performing the “hands-on” primary job functions, as needed, to ensure highest quality and accuracy.
  • Must be able to fill in at all positions as needed.
  • Assists other associates to maintain and proactively seeks opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assists with training new and existing employees.
  • Responsible for updating ACE board(s) and daily metrics of the cell.
  • Lead, drive and own safety initiatives for assigned area and throughout the facility.
  • Obtain ACE Associate within one year of becoming team leader.

Knowledge:

  • ACE – Basic knowledge of ACE principles and application.
  • Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Electrical or Electronic Systems - Knowledge of principles and method of support structures and installation components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic and its applications.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Systems – Obtain knowledge of JDE and DSI inventory management systems within 6 months of becoming a Team Leader.
