Team Leader (2nd Shift)Requisition ID: (21012733)Primary Location: United States-Missouri-Ava Job Function: Manufacturing & Operations Job Posting Date: Sep 9, 2021, 8:03:43 PM If you are an Operations or Manufacturing professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Ava, Missouri. You will serve as a Business Unit Team Leader, with responsibility over our team members trained in CNC milling and turning processes. You will assist in the development and supervision of the employees, processes, and equipment used safely in the quality and cost-effective manufacturing of scroll compressor components. AS A BUSINESS UNIT TEAM LEADER, YOU WILL:
  • Lead / supervise 30-40 team members in a business unit.
  • Communicate clearly one-on-one, or in a toolbox, and / or plant-wide setting.
  • Motivate and create a fun work environment.
  • Ensure team members have the tools needed to do their job properly.
  • Ensure the business unit has the correct headcount and staffing through seasonal demand periods.
  • Ensure all plant metrics / targets are met daily; production goal, ppm, safety, 5S scores.
  • Work closely with quality and engineering teams to improve the scrap rate, changeover times, and other process improvements.
  • Work with materials to ensure the right supplies are delivered to the business unit in a timely manner.
  • Lead “world class” 5S standards.
  • Apply statistical methods to understand machine troubleshooting.
  • Coach new operators, evaluate the trainee’s performance, and sign the record of qualification.
  • Lead perfect execution activities such as Kaizen events, value stream mapping, TPM, etc.
  • Lead production team members to meet / exceed conversion costs targets.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained.
WHO YOU ARE:You build an effective team to meet your set goals; direct the work of team members and maintenance personel; ensure accountability of all production team members, maintenance, and project team members; collabrate effectively with support teams; and use your resourcefulness and all resources available to accomplish the task of meeting your customer's demands. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) in a technical area or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and two years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to travel up to 0%-5% of the time.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in machining environment
  • Familiarity with CNC Equipment (mills/lathes)

Most jobs provide service and support to a specific shift although some jobs provide support across all three shifts. Our shifts schedules are:

7:30 AM to 4:00 PM



Second


3:30 PM to 12:00 AM



Third


11:30 PM to 8:00 AM
