Job Description

Bethel School District is seeking appropriately licensed candidates for 1.0 FTE Federal programs Coordinator (Title II & IV) and Bethel Online Academy Coordinator.


In the role of Coordinator of Federal Programs, the ideal candidate will provide leadership and oversight to ensure that state and federal grant funds related to supplemental instruction, instructional improvement, and professional development are utilized in the most effective way possible to provide assistance to eligible schools and students. The Federal Programs Coordinator works collaboratively across the district to ensure program quality and compliance, specifically with Title IIA and Title IV funding sources, and with other sources that are intended to supplement the core instructional programs of the district. The Federal Programs Coordinator reports to Directors of Teaching and Learning.


Under the direction of the Directors of Teaching and Learning, the Bethel Online Academy (BOA) coordinator has a variety of responsibilities specifically assigned to support the overall operation of BOA. The BOA Coordinator assists with coordinating the school program and supporting student, family and staff.


A sample of duties for the BOA coordinator:

  • Serves as a resource to Bethel Online Academy (BOA) staff, students and families.
  • Serves as the liaison among building administrators, BOA staff and families, and Directors of Teaching and Learning.
  • Counsels students and parents about BOA and District resources, supports and expectations.
  • Assists in developing programs to promote positive student behavior as well as intervention strategies.
  • Provides appropriate education, supports and restorative opportunities for students, as needed.
  • Assists with supporting attendance and outreach to families.
  • Provides support to students and staff with technology and online access.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Selection Factors:

  • Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques, as required by the position.
  • Knowledge of the basic developmental stages of a child's learning process.
  • Ability to schedule the workload, manage time, and meet the needs of students, the school, or a program.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with small groups and individual students.
  • Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans and adapt, as needed, to meet the needs of students.
  • Ability to interact positively with children and adults, and observe individual student abilities.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, parents and co-workers.
  • Ability to safely and proficiently operate standard office and audio-visual equipment, as required by the position.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Possess an Oregon Teaching License by start of the school year
  • Ability to implement Culturally Proficient skills and strategies
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks

Highly desirable qualifications:

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, preferably Spanish/English
  • Experience working in richly diverse school communities and environments
  • Strong Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
  • Strong Knowledge of Response to Intervention strategies
