Teacher Aide (Special Education): Niagara Falls Learning Ctr (TA-978)

Anticipated initial assignment is to be in at the Niagara Falls Learning Center, Niagara Falls, NY. The individual will provide instructional support under the direction of the classroom teacher to a student with global delays. Constant one on one supervision is necessary for the safety of the student. The individual will accompany the student to all related services and provide proximity and support. The individual must be able to take direction from the classroom teacher and related service provider. The individual will be required to exercise patience, maintain even-handed demeanor, be well-organized, multi-task well, and adhere to safety procedures and protocols. Knowledge regarding students with severe disabilities is preferred. Regarding physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position, requirements may include the abilities to regularly and repetitively stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull, crawl, and kneel. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change.
