Job Description
Community Product Operations plays a critical role in the product life cycle at the Facebook company—from ideation and development, to launch, growth, help, and support. We partner closely with product, engineering, data science and other Global Operations teams to improve the user experience and ensure that every product experience is safe, reliable, and supported at scale. We need influencers who can align cross-functional partners to ensure the best possible experience for our platforms.Meta is looking for a Taxonomist/Content Architecture specialist that will focus on the strategic planning, design, and implementation of taxonomies to help achieve goals of the Community Help & Education team, such as supporting the categorizing and labeling, machine learning and content understanding systems across all Meta's help products. The crux of this work is in developing, maintaining, growing a taxonomy for a number of complex, many-faceted products while integrating it across several organizations to drive reporting insights. The person in this role will be expected to be an experienced taxonomist able to quickly expand knowledge domains.This is a full time role.

Taxonomist & Information Architecture Strategist, Community Help & Education Responsibilities:
- Make and help implement recommendations to continuously content performance and engagement.
- Maintain and expand the foundational content and case management structure, including managing a complex taxonomy used to power content on the Facebook Help Center and various.
- Support platforms, along with controlled vocabularies, dictionaries, keywords and more.
- Bring in and drive the adoption of taxonomy and content management best practices.
- Partner with the content team to evolve and improve content systems that promote performance, reuse, dynamic assembly, and distribution across multiple channels.
- Collaborate with teams to define, conduct, and analyze rapid innovation experiments when needed.
- Analyze ongoing quantitative and qualitative feedback and data from user interactions, such as search trends and entry-points, to identify trends and insights into user needs.
- Coordinate discovery activities, gathering requirements and use cases, conducting audits and gap analyses, creating maps and matrices.
- Contribute content strategy inputs to natural language processing and personalization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in developing taxonomies/or ontologies to support a variety of systems both for front-end and back-end use.
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, Linguistics, or another related field, or the equivalent in relevant experience.
- Technical aptitude, familiarity with CMS (Content Management System) solutions and metadata-driven solutions like chatbots.
- Experience with evaluating and implementing taxonomies to support systems such as search systems, content management systems, digital asset management systems, or product classification.
- Experience building taxonomies for machine learning classification systems.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, including experience communicating complex technical issues simply and convincingly to drive fast decisions.
- Experience in improving and maintaining content management systems and taxonomies.
- Highly experienced communicating and presenting taxonomy principles and standards.
- Knowledge in delivering measurable outcomes through user experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python or SQL.
