Job Description
DCC Propane LLC is actively recruiting for a Tax Accountant to join our Finance team in Lisle, IL. This role will be responsible for the collection of tax-related information, reporting to taxation authorities at the federal, state, county, and local levels in a timely manner, and providing guidance/advice to various management on tax related issues.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare tax returns for sales, use, excise, motor fuel and gross receipts
Maintain oversight of any tax regulations and its effects, including updating tax rates regularly
Perform tax analysis and research for tax compliance across federal, state and local jurisdictions for ongoing and acquired business.
Act as a central point of contact for all tax related issues
Provide guidance/advice to various management-level executives on tax-related issues
Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to taxes
Reconcile all tax accounts monthly
Actively participate in both Internal and External Audits relating to all taxes. This will include ensuring any recommendations or findings from resulting audits are researched and then implemented if applicable to the company's operations and processes
Prepare Personal Property tax returns in multiple states, including but not limited to Indiana, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Tennessee, Mississippi and Connecticut
Participate in special projects, analysis and ad-hoc tasks as required by management
Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
2+ years of work experience in the assistance of tax-related information collection and reporting to taxation authorities at the federal, state, county, and local levels
Working knowledge of the preparation of tax returns for sales, use, excise, motor fuel, and/ or gross receipts across multiple states
Capable of conducting regulatory tax research at a federal, state, county, and local level
Excellent knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
Possess excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to meet deadlines and goals.
Exercise solid organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
Good phone skills and computer literacy (MS Office).
Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.
Must be dependable with a stable work history.
Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Ability to adapt to a changing schedule as directed.
Show excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
Must be committed to working safely at all times.
Experience/Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Certification credentials such as CPA/CMA a plus
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in office environment.
Office management experience preferred.
