Job Description
Virginia Tax is in search of energetic, detail-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialists to assist the Talent Acquisition (TA) team with full life-cycle recruiting for a variety of technical and non-technical positions. These positions will also perform administrative and transactional functions related to filling positions across the agency. Success in these positions will be determined by the candidates’ ability to communicate, be responsive and decisive, and anticipate deadlines and competing priorities. These positions will provide wonderful opportunities to grow your talent acquisition and human resources skills! These positions offer a flexible work schedule and can work up to 29 hours a week.
Additional duties include:
Hiring range is commensurate with experience up to $35.00 per hour.
Currently employees may telework several days each week due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As Virginia Tax moves towards returning the workforce to the office, telework frequency will be reduced based on the needs of the agency.

Special RequirementsAll Virginia Tax employees must be current with filing their tax returns ensuring they were filed in compliance with established laws, rules and regulations.
Selected candidate(s) will be required to consent to and successfully pass a background investigation which includes fingerprint-based criminal history, tax compliance, and DMV driving record (if applicable) checks.

Additional duties include:
- Maintain professional relationships with hiring managers, internal and external customers, service providers, and other resources to ensure current and future staffing goals are achieved
- Assist with talent acquisition activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and investigating candidates
- Screen and review applications and supporting materials to assess the skills, qualifications, and experience of prospective employees
- Perform background and reference checks
- Ensure proper onboarding for new hires by confirming that necessary pre-employment documents and activities are completed promptly and accurately
- Analyze data and create reports
- Assist with filing and records management, and keying transactions and data
- Utilize, update, and maintain talent acquisition tools and systems
- Other HR duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience writing job announcements and screening applications
- Knowledge and/or experience in human resources
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to multitask, meet critical deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced work
- Strong computer skills to include MS Office Excel and Word, Google, and
- Experience working independently and as a team member
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s
