This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Data Analytics. Join Data Analytics as we gather, explore, and examine data to provide meaningful and impactful analysis that shapes the future of Florida Medicaid. As the Agency hub for analytics, reporting, and visualization, the Bureau of Medicaid Data Analytics examines critical aspects of Floridians’ health, health care services and costs, and is vital to managed care rate setting, health care economics, and health plan evaluation.
We are seeking to hire a Systems Project Analyst who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast- paced, team-based work environment. In addition to strong technical skills and the ability to compile reports, the agency is looking for someone with a keen ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions. This position is responsible for providing general support in the preparation and reporting of health economic and statistical analyses for the unit/bureau including data management and data analysis of large claims, encounter, and eligibility data to measure various aspects of health plan performance including utilization, cost, quality, and efficiency. Familiarity with relational databases and flat files, and programming proficiency in SQL and/or SAS are required. Troubleshooting and problem solving-skills are essential. The incumbent will also be expected to assist in producing reports that convey information about plan and program performance to a non-technical audience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of computer software applications, including MS Windows Operating Systems, Visio Professional, Project Professional, MS SQL Server 2010, Oracle version 10g or later.
- Knowledge of Florida Medicaid operations.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling, statistical problem solving, or relevant modeling.
- Ability to design, develop and implement database backup and recovery procedures.
- Ability to create process flows/workflows for automate and manual business systems.
- Ability to conduct costs for performance measures.
- Possess excellent communication skills, including oral & written; and
- Possess strong time management skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- At least one year of work experience using computer software applications, including MS Windows Operating Systems, and MS Office
- At least one year of experience working with MS SQL server
- At least one year of work experience performing analysis involving large databases
- At least one year of work experience creating Excel spreadsheets to present results of data analysis
