- Work with a broad cross-functional team
- Working across functions and team boundaries to implement and optimize system level image quality and dose management features for new products and technology roadmaps
- Use broad technical expertise and experience to evaluate and tune complex designs focusing on the areas of image quality, calibration and dose management
- Providing domain expertise to own/lead technical design reviews, investigation of technical risks, as well as providing innovative solutions to achieve optimal system performance
- Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system performance and image quality
- Developing requirements for key system performance parameters as they relate to image quality, system safety, performance and calibration
- Driving system tradeoff discussions within new product developments by having a full understanding of system architecture and interfaces
- Investigating customer questions and complaints to provide technical answers and solutions
- Providing technical leadership for project execution
- Implementing and teaching engineering principles and standards
- Driving innovation for competitive technical differentiation
- Mentoring junior engineers in area of expertise
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field
- Ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems
- Effective communication skills - ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
- Ability to pursue tasks to completion
- 2 years relevant industrial or academic experience
- Strong understanding of X-ray physics, CT physics, CT imaging and image/signal processing fundamentals
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field
- Demonstrated record of innovation in technology development
- Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis, modeling and simulations
- Experience with CT specific device operation and troubleshooting issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with research collaborations
- Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
- Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment
- Excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
