Systems Analyst

Job Purpose: As a Systems Analyst, your role is to analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders, whether the stakeholders are customers or end users. The Systems analyst will act as a liaison between Rockfarm’s business stakeholders and IT teams. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to IT teams throughout the project lifecycle. The Systems Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. In addition, the Systems Analyst will lead testing efforts relating to the projects to validate requirements are met. This may include validation of new products, validation of reporting from various systems through Rockfarm’s data lake, etc. The Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT understanding of business requirements.

Systems Analyst Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct interviews to gather user requirements through workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
• Identify and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
• Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
• Participate in the QA of solutions to ensure that the features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
• Develop and utilize standard templates to write requirement specifications accurately and concisely.
• Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/the project team. Where applicable, develop prototypes of interfaces and attributes based on the user requirements.
• Perform testing and validation of new products to include tie-out reporting from various Rockfarm systems through Rockfarm’s data lake. Requires knowledge of Rockfarm systems (MercuryGate TMS, QuickBooks, etc.) as well as knowledge of database platforms and SQL to validate data aligns. The Systems Analyst will be expected to perform this tie-out testing, troubleshoot areas that are not matching, and determine the root cause. The Systems Analyst will then work with appropriate resources in IT and Product Development to determine fixes required and in the future make the necessary changes to solve the ongoing issues.
• Create documentation: process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to IT and/or the project team.
• Become an export within Rockfarm’s solution landscape and how Rockfarm’s data flows through to the Data Lake for presentation within Power BI

Preferences:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, or information systems
• 2-5 yrs. work experience with business/technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, and verification
• Experience and understanding of ERPs, Dynamics CRM, MercuryGate, BI systems and terminologies, MySQL, SQL, SQL Server, Azure (Data Factory, Logic App, etc.), and QuickBooks'
