RE Tech Advisors is currently seeking a highly motivated, well-rounded, and organized Sustainability Consultant with three to five years of experience to join our growing organization. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to utilize your passion for sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies to support national and international clients in the real estate industry. The position will be based out of Falls Church, VA. Staff are currently allowed to work remotely on a voluntary basis due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic; however, must be based out of one of the states that we currently operate in and have the ability to return to the office once required. This interim policy is subject to change.

Education/Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- 3-5 years of professional consulting experience, ideally with at least 3 years of experience in sustainability, energy efficiency, or related field. Do not include internship experience in calculating your years of professional experience; but do include it in your resume.

Essential Job Functions:
The successful candidate will serve as an advisor and client advocate, supporting the development and implementation of client ESG programs that drive improved financial and environmental building performance. This position will work with our project managers and client support team to design and implement effective ESG strategies, including the following responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Managers, the client team, RE Tech engineers, and our data and analytics team to:
- Conduct research and investigation into industry trends, best practices, and ESG topics.
- Develop positive working relationships with client property teams, including regular communication with both technical and management stakeholders.
- Manage and analyze environmental performance data including greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), energy, water, and waste utility consumption and costs; benchmark performance; and monitor and interpret performance trends.
- Coordinate with clients, third parties, and/or RE Tech team members to oversee benchmarking in ENERGY STAR Portfolio®Manager®.
- Support identification and coordination of ESG projects and initiatives at property and portfolio levels. Examples include energy and water efficiency technology deployment, implementation of operational best practices, and strategic outreach/messaging campaigns.
- Track task requirements, status, and deadlines to support consistent, timely delivery of work products and technical input across multiple clients and internal teams.
- Draft and execute visually pleasing and creative communications deliverables, such as annual reports, white-papers, marketing fact sheets, social media campaigns, presentations and trainings, and other stakeholder engagement activities.
- Provide support for industry reporting initiatives, such as GRESB, CDP, UN PRI, GRI, and TCFD.
- Work independently with little-to-no oversight on simple projects.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to entry-level team members and ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
- Exercise judgement and self-prioritize assignments daily, identifying and communicating issues before they become problems.
- Develop accurate, on-time and on-budget high-quality deliverables.
- Develop strong relationships among staff through superior written and verbal communications strategies. Develop relationships with client contacts, such as property teams.
- Produce clear, effective, and creative documents, charts, infographics, graphs, presentations, reports, and marketing pieces.
- Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Support client deliverable processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Function as a highly productive team member in interdisciplinary groups that include technical and non-technical staff.
- Develop subject matter expertise in a specific sector and/or service offering.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional desired skills and experience:

- U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® experience is preferred.
- Experience with industry reporting initiatives, particularly GRESB and CDP, preferred.
- Ability to review and analyze data, to include asset level information and utility data, identify data quality issues and address them is preferred.
- Familiarity with reviewing and utilizing (not creating) data analytics and visualization platforms, such as Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with LEED, Fitwel, and other building performance certifications desired, but not required.
