Survey Party Chief

Goodbee is looking for self-motivated individual to join our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)

department to lead survey services. The position is mid to senior-level and will report to the SUE Group

Lead.

Job Duties

• Direct and oversee a field crew on utility, topographic, and construction survey tasks
• Ability to perform field survey tasks, primarily surveying SUE markings initially
• Provide office processing of field data in AutoCad and/or MicroStation
• Ability to grow department to include topographic and construction surveying services
• Work includes surveying utilities in urban and rural environments and may require some travel

and flexible hours (evenings and weekends possible but uncommon)

• Be responsible for purchasing, operating and maintaining survey equipment
• Adhering to company safety policies, performing quality processes, and professionally interacting

with landowners, businesses, clients, and other members of the public

• Position has opportunity for growth with demonstrated successes
  

Required Skills

• 3 to 5 years of survey crew experience
• Experience with Trimble data collectors, total station, and Business Center
• Experience with CDOT deliverables including TMOSS
• Ability to operate AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Mid-level Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to understand and decipher horizontal/vertical datums and coordinate systems
• Capability of working alone or in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Colorado Professional Land Surveyor license or ability to obtain within 6-12 months

Educational Requirements

Degree in Land Surveying and Geomatics preferred, or equivalent experience
