raSmith is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm comprising civil engineers, structural engineers, land surveyors, development managers, landscape architects and ecologists. Our services are focused on our public and private sector client needs in design and construction including land development, site planning and design, structural engineering, municipal engineering, transportation and traffic, surveying, construction services and geographic information systems (GIS). We work on projects nationwide from our seven locations in Wisconsin, Illinois and California.

We currently have an opening for a Survey CAD Technician who will assist the Survey Project Managers with a variety of survey drafting duties. Duties will include reviewing assigned project files for necessary materials and information to carry out project scope and drafting tasks as well as providing thorough analysis of field notes, legal descriptions, title easements, design plans and construction layout notes. This role will be responsible for preparing survey documents including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey, Plat of Survey, Certified Survey Maps, topographic maps, Transportation Plats, Condominium Plats, Subdivision Plats, legal descriptions and other survey exhibits and developing an understanding of surveying concepts, our company business and how surveying is integrated into plans and projects. There will be other duties as assigned.

. Requirements:

The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying from an accredited school. Knowledge of surveying methods, practices and techniques as well as the legal aspects of surveying are required. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D and Microsoft Office products is also expected.
