DeAnza Outpatient Surgery was established in 2016. It offers quality outpatient services to the community as an extension of Riverside Community Hospital’s Perioperative Services. We offer a variety of surgical specialties working with a fast paced, patient centered team approach.

Position Summary: Performs the scrub role as a member of the perioperative team. Assists the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure. Functions as a member of a specialty team.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensure/Certification/Registration:

o Certification preferredo BCLS

• Education:

o High School Diploma, or equivalent.

• Experience:

o Completion of a surgical technician program and/or one year experience as a surgical technician.

• Special Qualifications:

o Demonstrates knowledge of autoclaves and sterilization modes.o Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.o Demonstrates knowledge of the use of equipment, instruments, and supplies.o Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology.o Has ability to assess the developmental needs of patients from infancy to the elderly and modify care appropriately.
