Job Description

POSITIONS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct initial coordination with patients regarding surgical scheduling to include pre-admission testing, medical clearances, education materials, and patient availability.
  • Manage insurance pre-authorizations for patients and advise practice manager regarding any issues.
  • Maintain surgical schedule to ensure physician availability and resolve any conflicts.
  • Manage end to end experience for patients to include surgical scheduling, keeping patients routinely apprised of progress, and respond to all patient inquiries via phone or email.
  • Coordinate with surgical facility to confirm surgery dates, ensure receipt of required paperwork, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Serve as a liaison between the patient, physician, operating room scheduler, and off-site facility/hospital.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure team success.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with insurance pre-authorizations and surgical scheduling.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Dependable and reliable, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player mentality, able to get along with others and contribute in any capacity to ensure success.
