Surgical Assistant

Surgical Assistant Responsibilities:

• Obtain medical history of each patient prior to surgery

• Provide patients with pre-op and post-op instructions

• Update electronic health records

• Sterilization of surgical equipment, tools, and supplies

• Preparation of operating rooms for surgical procedures

• Assisting Surgeon during consultations

• Assisting Surgeon and Surgical team during treatment

• Perform other administrative tasks as needed

Surgical Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:

• The ability to work in a high paced environment

• The ability to remain calm and focused in the operating room

• Dental X-ray license

• Experience with dental implants (Nobel, Straumann)

• Good manual dexterity, working knowledge of surgical procedures & tasks

• Experience in Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry

• Experience with DSN practice management software is a plus

• OMSA Certified (A plus, but not required)
