At Impact Oral Surgery you will assist Oral Surgeon during oral surgical procedures to ensure the highest quality of care is provided. Assists with clinical and technical procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed surgeon or dentist. Prepare operatory, instruments and equipment for treatment. Seat, drape, and prepare patient for surgical procedures.Provide clear post-op instructions to parent, patient, or escort.

Job Duties

  • Prepares all treatment rooms in advance for each patient.
  • Changes all chemical solutions, i.e., disinfectant soaks and sprays, sterilants, ultrasonic, presoak.
  • Handles hazardous chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Seats patients in designated treatment rooms in a timely fashion.
  • Reviews medical history, progress from the previous visit, if applicable, and the scheduled treatment plan with each patient.
  • Takes x-rays prescribed by provider.
  • Assists the doctor in all oral surgery procedures by passing instruments, aspirating intra-oral fluids, mixing materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant or a Certified Dental Assistant in state working
  • CPR Required.
  • Trained by an Accredited Dental Assistant School preferred
  • 1+ years Assisting in Oral Surgery a plus.
