Supply Chain Business Analyst

DESCRIPTION

A Supply Chain Analyst has an important role in the planning and carrying out of large-scale projects. A Supply Chain Analyst collects data and then analyzes to make improvements to the supply chain system. They work to promote top-notch performance from workers and lower the costs of items used in projects.

DUTIES

• Design and implement methods to gather and manage supply chain data
• Research and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods
• Review and analyze gathered data to locate was areas in the supply chain process and develop methods to improve
• Research partner companies and seek to negotiate best-price contracts to increase business revenue
• Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects
• Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values
• Assist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationship with business partners and vendors
• Seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodology and processes

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Typically works in an office environment, with the exception of current Covid-19 remote work protocols
• Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, calculating, concentration, & interpersonal abilities are expected
• Eye/hand coordination, typing, handling, & wrist motion continuously
• Bending, reaching, stretching, standing, & walking occasionally

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Engineering field from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Experience analyzing and improving supply chain data, information, and processes
• Supply Chain Management certification is not necessary though strongly preferred
• High-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes
• Previous experience with supply chain processes strongly preferred
• Experience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processes
• Professional communication skills are essential when conversing and negotiating with vendors
• Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenge and needs to be addressed
• Ability to research companies and determine the best vendors to reach out to for various projects
• Experience working to improve all aspects of the supply chain by streamlining steps and locating the best prices for inventory
