Supplier Diversity Manager

As part of the Procurement Center of Excellence team, the Manager of Supplier Diversity – GNFR will be responsible for working with the teams internal to Procurement, externally with our supplier base, and cross-functionally throughout the enterprise. The purpose of this role is to drive, develop, track, and monitor progress towards Best Buy’s Supplier Diversity established goals while building additional capabilities within the Supplier Diversity category for future years of success. This position is remote eligible.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive simplification, standardization and digitization of supplier diversity tools, metrics, and procedures to facilitate broad utilization and rapid adoption by employees, leadership, and suppliers.
• Training and education of Procurement teams along with supplier base around understanding and enablement of tools (including diversity databases). Partnering with Strategic Sourcing teams to build Tier 2 capabilities within non-diverse suppliers.
• Creating and executing strategies that add value utilizing small and diverse suppliers to increase our competitive advantage by identifying and introducing to category leads. Additionally, partnering with Inclusion & Diversity, Risk and Legal teams on best practices for supplier engagement.
• Communicating the importance of doing business with small and diverse suppliers both internally and externally by attending outreach events, engaging directly with business teams including leadership and being active with our diverse organization partners.
• Develop and communicate KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as well as publish reporting on metrics related to supplier diversity.
• Prepare and share extensive and targeted messages utilized for enabling employees, celebrating successes, conveying our policies and best practices both internally and externally as well as developing informational content for leadership and sourcing teams.
• Creating a list of qualified suppliers across all buy spaces to advance and accelerate small and diverse suppliers. Develop relationships with these suppliers to ensure continued viability of the program including upcoming bid events.
• Effectively manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 reporting requirements for key customers.
• Lead and host Procurement diverse supplier fairs/summits and ensuring Best Buy’s Partner Portal stays current and relevant with news, events, and information.

Basic Requirements

• 5 or more years of Supplier Diversity program experience
• 2 or more years of Procurement (Sourcing or Operations) experience
• 2 or more years of business process optimization / management experience
• 2 or more years working with Supplier Diversity technology or tools
• Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Requirements

• Past success in building diversity programs
• Past success in building relationship with sr. executive stakeholders, influencing change and driving progress
• Experience in business development and/or project management
• Experience in retail industry
• Experienced working within a matrix fortune 100 organization
