    You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the Force Protection Division of NAVWPNSTA SEAL BEACH DET NORCO CA.


    Responsibilities
    • You will interview witnesses to collect information about a case.
    • You will plan law enforcement classroom training and drills in accordance with the training plan.
    • You will identify law enforcement employee development needs to verify performance goals are met.
    • You will conduct patrols (e.g., foot, bicycle, water) to detect and deter crime.

    • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
    • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
    • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
    • Must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of lidar/radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety test, defensive police baton, OC Spray and obtain other certifications required.
    • Must successfully complete Navy Police Officers Course of instruction and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR, AED, DOD and Joint Training Regulations.
    • This position is subject to shift work. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall, and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification number, and is required to respond per installation policy/standard operating procedure. Overtime may be required.
    • May be subject to being interrupted from meal and/or other work breaks while on duty.
    • Must be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
    • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance on law enforcement and security policies and procedures; 2) Interviewing witnesses to crimes, accidents, or security breaches to determine facts, warrant apprehension, detention, or lesser action; 3) Resolving law enforcement issues; 4) Conducting searches to compile evidence of crime/accident scenes; 5) Reviewing reports for accuracy, discrepancies, and areas of concern.     Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 month of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training.

    This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
