- Provides oversight and supervision in the areas of materiel procurement acquisitions, clinical engineering, property and medical facility management, logistics information systems, logistics readiness and product standardization.
- Directs development of logistics policy proposals of Command-wide applicability and coordinates these proposals with other Army and DoD components and staff officers.
- Provides guidance, sets overall work assignments, and monitors performance of subordinates to ensure a well-motivated, well-trained, and productive workforce.
- Exercises final authority for full range of personnel actions and organization design proposals recommended by subordinate supervisors.
- Conducts conferences and assessments to obtain data by which to evaluate the effectiveness of the medical logistics programs, to identify critical areas,determine course of corrective or initial action, and to develop integrated plans.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) managing overall planning, analysis and implementation of medical material activities/programs such as safety, training, budget, financial liability investigations (FLIs), environmental services, Command Logistics Review Program (CLRP), and organizational improvement; 2.) analyzing performance, policies and processes, to make recommendations and implement optimal medical logistics and facilities management initiatives; and 3.) maintaining management tools for Equipment Life Cycle Management and Facility Sustainment, Repair, and Maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

About the Position: This position is with the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics and Acquisitions at the Regional Health Command - Atlantic, RHC-A, the nation's premier military system for health.
Serves as Deputy to the RHC-A Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics (ACSLOG) / G-4, sharing in the direction of all phases of the organization's Defense Medical Logistics programs and work.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
