Research and develop comprehensive electric meter strategy in accordance with Eversource’s strategic vision, including assisting in the development and design of advanced metering systems.
Leads the partnership with IT, Meter Operations, Electric Meter Lab and Meter Data Services to maintain a Systems Technology Plan to ensure meter systems technology and operations performance meets Company goals. Plans, schedules, coordinates, and supervises all data and analytical activities associated with the above.
Duties include but are not limited to: defines, implements and administers approved policies, procedures, and standards for electric metering and telemetering in the Eversource system; creates and maintains short and long term metering strategy for all revenue metering in the Eversource system, including new initiatives like AMI and Smart Grid; acts as project manager for large-scale projects for the team; facilitates and supervises personnel including data analysts, meter consultants and meter coordinators. Coaches and motivates assigned employees on goal achievement and general performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Plans, schedules, and supervises the development and publication of metering standards and specifications for all revenue related metering for the Eversource system
  • Supervises the review of and/or reviews proposed local, state, regional and national standards, specifications, and guidelines involving electric metering and recommends approval or other action by Eversource management
  • In cooperation with Meter Engineering, supervises the continuous review of new metering products and technologies for potential application on the Eversource systems, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of pilot installations
  • Leads initiatives on advancing or improving metering technology; provides coordination and execution of large-scale projects and/or initiatives.
  • Oversees meter related investigations, including customer complaints, to satisfactory resolution and provides timely status updates to Meter Operations leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Provides responses to regulatory and audit-related data and information requests
  • Reviews and approves time, purchase requisitions and invoices related to department activity
  • Develops, prepares, and maintains budgets for Meter Planning and Strategy organization.
  • Develops employees using performance management, coaching, and performance reviews.

  • Resolves employee issues and concerns in a fair and timely manner and creates a positive and safe work environment supporting exchange of ideas and opinions.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, finance, accounting or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • Five to ten years of related experience including supervisory experience

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
