Job Description

Summer intern staff play a critical role in the success of The Global Leadership Summit on August 5-6. If you have a passion for the local church and helping Christians grow their leadership to maximize Kingdom impact, please consider applying for a summer intern position.

Dates: June 7 – Aug 13, 2021, 40 hrs/wk (higher during peak periods).

Purpose: The Main Campus Event and Volunteer Coordinator supports the volunteers with volunteer organization, communication, and volunteer event coordinating as needed. This role is responsible for managing large amounts of volunteer data and communication of the data. This role is also responsible for many event planning needs for The Global Leadership Summit on the South Barrington Campus and supporting the Director of Event Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage volunteer data and share data with volunteer high capacity leaders
  • Track volunteer sign-ups
  • Order t-shirts and organize distribution to volunteers
  • Prepare volunteer name badges for distribution
  • Support Conference Event Manager with event preparations for volunteer leader gathering, volunteer trainings and celebrations.
  • Support Director of Event Operations with additional tasks related to guest experience
  • Coordinate and work together as needed with other interns
  • Support guest engagement during high call volume dates and as needed
  • Align with Volunteer Champion to support volunteer strategy

Position Requirements: This position requires working well with volunteers needs and having patience to navigate questions. Applicant must be willing to jump in and help event pieces as needed and be ready to support our high capacity, year-round volunteer leaders.

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to work with vendors
  • Understanding the importance of volunteers

  • Completed high school and one year of college
  • Ability to multi-task
  • A vital relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • An active participant of a local church that holds to a historic, orthodox understanding of biblical Christianity.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, seasonal role reporting to the Prison and U.S. Ministries Programs Manager.

General office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Specific days/hours requirement may vary depending on position and number of hours.
