Studio Operations Manager
General Job Description:
Weigel Broadcasting is looking for a Studio Operations Manager that will be responsible for providing front-line management of operational, technical and production support. The Studio Operations Manager will work with a driven and highly motivated team to support live and recorded broadcast productions for local and network television.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate studio with best practices, highest productions value and value work flow and efficiency.
Coordinate with production teams on all current and future productions – productions include hosted daily shows, narrative comedy, sports, news and other live/recorded programs.
Maintain and update studio facilities including sets, lighting, technical equipment.
Supervise control room operations including switchers, audio, cameras, monitor walls and related hardware and software.
Work with existing team, build team as needed, train, schedule, supervise operations team including Technical Directors, Audio Operators, Camera Operators, and Production Assistants.
Design, develop workflow for existing and new productions.
Coordinate with engineering, operations, systems and IT teams.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for the job, if not currently employed by Weigel Broadcasting Co.
7+ years Production leadership on national programming.
Demonstrated experience training and leading production staff.
Excels communicating with internal and external teams
Prioritizes precision organization
Knowledge of various genres including comedy, news, talk, entertainment, documentary.
Comfort level with vendor evaluation, system setup and troubleshooting.
Excellent at documenting workflows, procedures.
