Job Description
The Student Computer Center Lab Assistant is responsible for helping in the operation of the Student Computer Center and also the computer classrooms used for the Division of Business and Information Technology. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, instructing students on proper equipment operation, assisting students with project application assignment problems, programming, providing alternate learning methods for students using the Student Computer Center, assisting faculty and college employees in the usage of the Student Computer Center and computer equipped BIT division classrooms. Reports To SCC Supervisor and Dean of Business and Information Technology What position(s) reports to this position? N/A Minimum Education/Experience Successful completion of nine (9) college credit hours towards a degree in Computer Aided Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

A minimum of one (1) year of Computer Aided Technology or Computer Science related work experience. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of multiple topics in one or more of the following areas. Multiple areas preferred: AutoCAD, Computer Programming, Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks, Web Design, 3D Printing technology, Laser Cutter technology, CNC.
Must have working knowledge in the following area. Multiple areas preferred: Computer Aided Design (AutoCad) Windows and Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet)
Must be willing to learn (self-study or classes) to become proficient in additional areas Physical Demands/Working Conditions Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays.
Ability to lift and carry computer and peripheral equipment. Preferred Qualifications AutoCAD, Computer Programming (C, Java, Python, Visual Basic, etc.), CNC Technology, 3D Printing Technology, and Laser Cutter Technology. Required Training Work Hours 40 hour work week, consisting of mornings and afternoons. Occasionally evening and Saturday when needed.
