CSUN’s Tseng College: Graduate, International, and Midcareer Education (College) provides advanced professional education to undergraduate, graduate, international and midcareer students. With more than $37.7 million in revenue and close to 28,000 total enrollments in 2020-2021, the College is a leading provider of professional degrees, certificates and custom-designed programs. Known for its premier support services, the College employs an administrative staff of more than 70 full-time employees, leading to high graduation rates – 68-89 percent for most programs in 2019-2020, with some, like the Master of Social Work, achieving 96 percent in 2019-2020.

Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Student Account Specialist performs general student accounting duties, including refund requests, withdrawals, and appeals for specific programs. The incumbent serves as the eTravel expert for the college and is the initial approver of all travel claims.

Prepare the weekly refund analysis and submit to campus cash services department
Respond to student, Admissions, Registration and Client Services (ARC), financial aid inquiries about student account (mail, phone, in-person).
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Equivalent to four years of full-time, progressively responsible accounting experience that has provided the applicant with the required knowledge and abilities listed OR any equivalent combination of college education in a job related field and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of governmental financial record-keeping methods, practices, and procedures. General knowledge of arithmetic and general office procedures.
Ability and specialized skills to: compile, verify, reconcile, and analyze financial data; prepare financial statements, spreadsheets, and reports.
Interpret and apply a wide variety of rules, regulations, and procedures; investigate and resolve errors and discrepancies; read and interpret computer generated financial report.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Classification / grade: 1740 / Accountant Technician III / 1
The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3532-$5000, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3532 - $6198 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
