Advice & Planning is a newly created Center of Excellence in Wealth & Investment Management. The primary mission of the team is to propagate Advice across the wealth continuum, helping our clients to make (incrementally) better financial decisions. The Advice & Planning team will focus on implementing a systematic, scaled “Advice Framework” that will connect our understanding of clients’ financial lives to their financial strategy so that clients’ situation can be revisited on an ongoing basis. In this way, we can create clients for life, while also deepening and broadening client relationships as their lives – and our relationship with them – evolves. A standardized Advice Framework will also serve to lay the foundation for future growth by setting clear expectations with prospects on the value they can anticipate receiving from their relationship with Wealth & Investment Management.

This Strategy Consultant role will support both Advice Enablement and overall Advice and Planning strategy and transformation definition, planning and implementation, including interaction models internal to the Center of Excellence as well as with key partners, business model and business process enhancements, and definition and measurement of key success metrics. Ability to get results in a matrixed environment and navigate across all levels of leadership. Possesses a sense of urgency about exceeding the objectives in a changing environment. Exhibits proven success in working across multiple stakeholders to set strategy, construct a business case and plan execution of large scale, multi-year, multi-stakeholder changes.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with Head of Advice Enablement, Advice and Planning Business Manager and other senior leaders to develop and execute against strategic priorities in support of Advice framework and five year business plan
  • Analyze and stay abreast of industry market trends focusing on growth opportunities and business improvement
  • Support development and refreshes for business case(s)/business plan(s)
  • Drive large/complex initiatives in alignment with Advice & Planning vision in a changing business environment
  • Help define and operationalize center of excellence metrics, including impact on revenue and growth and tie activity metrics to business results and outcomes
  • Develop Business Unit Review special topics and analysis
  • Ensure risk is appropriately and proactively identified, managed, mitigated, and monitored

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule:
Salary range is determined by location of the job.

Salary range: Min: $133,000 Mid: $190,000 Max: $247,000

May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards


Required Qualifications


  • 10+ years of strategic planning experience
  • 10+ years of financial industry experience

  • Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
  • Management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm
  • Experience with strategy development and implementation


Other Desired Qualifications

  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to engage and influence others towards achieving goals in a changing environment
  • Brokerage and/or Bank regulatory knowledge
  • 7+ years financial management experience
  • Proven ability to influence, partner and negotiate with senior business leaders and key stakeholders
  • Proven ability to successfully execute initiatives, drive for results, and provide sponsorship as required
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; must be able to communicate effectively and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing, competing and/or conflicting priorities
