Strategic Partners - Private Equity Secondaries, Associate

Job Description:

Strategic Partners provides the opportunity to join one of the most active and long-tenured investment teams in the secondary private equity industry. Primary job responsibilities include extensive valuation analysis and financial modeling of portfolio companies and funds across all private equity asset classes. The Associate will gain valuable experience working on secondary transactions, co-investments, GP-led secondaries, primary commitments and other unique deals. Additional responsibilities include preparing Investment Committee memos, identifying and executing investments, attending investment diligence sessions and performing portfolio monitoring activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating and closing investments including all aspects of deal due diligence
  • Negotiate and structure transactions effectively within tight time constraints
  • Prepare internal memoranda and other materials to support investment recommendations and to communicate with internal constituents
  • Monitor investments to communicate strategy and performance with existing and prospective investors

Qualifications:

Strategic Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively, and a desire to work both independently and collaboratively in a lean and growing team. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience, with 2-3 years of investment banking, direct investing or secondary private equity experience.
