Job Description:
The successful candidate will lead stratgeic campaigns within the Geospaitial business area. They will work effectively with a cross function team of business development, program management and engineering leadership that focus on the Geospatial Mission. The candidate will be pivotal to program execution and developing pursuit and capture plans, business strategy, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and interfacing with customers to close on contract orders to meet annual operating and strategic growth plans. The successful candidate will have proven experience in capture of new business by either organic growth within existing programs or through shaping and capture of new business. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated the ability to lead a geographically dispersed team of high performing professionals while developing new talent within this business
Essential Functions:
- Identify, plan, and execute strategies relative to business capture for Geospatial capabilities
- Strong understanding of Geospatial imaging modalities and processing solutions and how they support customers mission
- Lead business acquisition process milestone/gate reviews to include opportunity identification, qualification, pursuit, pre-proposal, and proposal processes
- Plan and direct engagement activities in support of customer and industry related meetings and conferences as a thought leader for Geospatial capabilities
- Support annual planning efforts for internal research and development, trade shows, marketing, and other customer engagement efforts
- Work closely with business leadership within the Space Superiority and Geospatial Sector and across the Space and Airborne Systems Segment
- Develop/present executive level reports/presentations on business cases and sales performance
- Act as customer contact for new opportunities and supports program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Frequently responsible for managing complex pursuits of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams
- Communicate within and outside of the organization to include customers and vendors Works to influence others to accept individual or team’s views or practices and changes to concepts, practices, and approaches
- Communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the functional or business area via senior leader briefings and other engagements
Qualifications:
- Current Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- 2+ years’ experience developing new business opportunities
- 2+ years’ experience supporting capture efforts and programs/projects of strategic importance to business area
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
- Dynamic, success driven, self-starter that drives change every day for a stronger, better business with proven leadership and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as the primary customer point of contact and the ability to interface internally and externally at all levels including senior management
- Proven track record as a team leader with a proactive approach to Program Management
- Demonstrated experience in proposal preparation as defined above
- Demonstrated skills in program management principles with the ability to excel in a cost and schedule constrained environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
