Ensures optimal use of clinical staff in order to provide high quality and cost effective care. Coordinates organizes and prepares work schedules for nursing units in the Float Pool to ensure the appropriate amount of staff are available. Collaborates with House Supervisor and Unit Managers regarding staffing and scheduling so that issues can be resolved in a pro-active manager. Assigns centralized float pool staff on a daily basis according to census. Communicates with Unit Managers to understand and address staffing needs. In cooperation with the Staffing Analyst monitors staffing and census levels routinely and alerts unit when staffing needs to be adjusted. Receives and records call-ins and adjusts staffing accordingly. Communicates any observed issues with Unit Managers if it appears office staff will have difficulty filling unfilled shifts. Manages timecards and payroll for the Float Pool staff.
This position is scheduled 3 - 12 Hour overnight shifts per week.
