We are seeking an FPGA designer for an effort that includes hands-on System Verilog coding, modelling, simulation, verification, integration, test, and detailed design skills. The candidate should be able to perform new designs and integrate significant existing firmware and electronics. The candidate will provide firmware technical support for new electronics design, firmware designs, and software designs for the entire system. Responsibilities will include documenting new designs and reuse modifications per our Engineering Practice Manual's requirements including change support. Individuals with experience regarding hardware design and testing of flight hardware is a plus. An active security clearance is required.

The Locale: Orlando is a city in the Central Florida area. This region is a great place to live and to raise a family. Central Florida offers lots of attractive residential housing options. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area is the sixth largest metro area in the southeastern United States. The climate here is warm and sunny all year long for the most part. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida (UCF), Walt Disney World, and SeaWorld. Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1 and ¼ hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with FPGA architecture, design, and development (Verilog, System Verilog), associated tools (Vivado, Libero, etc.), and IP Cores

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering

  • 9 years of professional experience in a related discipline, or 7 years with a related Masters degree.

  • Active Secret Clearance with 6 year back ground investigation
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM) and Change Control concepts and tools (Git, DOORS, Subversion, Mantis, Jira, etc.)
  • Experience with hardware designs and testing of flight hardware
  • Experience working with Functional Requirements and defining Requirement Based Tests
  • Experience performing HDL Synthesis/Simulation (eg. VCS, Synplicity, etc.)
  • Experience designing portable, scalable Test Bench for testing
  • Excellent scripting and automation skills. Perl, bash shell, python and TCL desired
  • Experience with UVM/OVM
  • Experience with hierarchical simulation and verification frameworks with emphasis on reusability and scalability
