We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented individual for the (Remote)Staff Accountant position who can help us bring ABA to communities that need it the most. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and execute appropriate accounting control procedures. This position will support the day to day accounting function and report directly to the Controller. The ideal candidate for this position will possess general accounting knowledge, including accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliation experience, the timeline and activities related to month-end close, and constructing financial statements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze financial information to assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, budget preparation, and audit schedules.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare financial management reports.
  • Review expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on monthly basis.
  • Perform monthly close procedures accurately and timely.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Continuous management of budget and forecast activities.
  • Maintain accounts payable.
  • Assist in processing biweekly payroll and field inquiries from employees.
  • Develop and sustain financial databases.
  • Accurate recording, tracking, and analysis of revenues, expenses, and debt balances

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field.
  • 3-5 years of related accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles, economic principles, auditing practices, and principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations with an emphasis on Healthcare.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quickbooks software.
  • Ability to independently find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management skills; manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinker with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical/complicated information in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Willingness to assist with other duties or projects as directed by the supervisor.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic.
