Job Description
Job Summary::

DDC- IT Services is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Sr. Unix System Administrator. This position will require an Active Secret, TS or TS/SCI andat least ONE IAT level II certification.


*Position is contingent upon contract award. Anticipated start date June 2021*


Job Duties and Responsibilities: :
  • Administer Unix-based Operating Systems (Linux/Solaris/HP-UX/AIX)
  • Configure, Maintain, Manage, and Troubleshoot Unix based OS and associated components such as the File system and DNS
  • Provide on-call after hours support in emergency or planned maintenance scenarios
  • Administrate remote access utilities and applications
  • Proactively monitor the operating system environments using provided toolsets
  • Identify and correct performance issues
  • Manage Server Clusters
  • Provide support for Disaster Recovery efforts
  • Perform hardware and software technology refreshes as required
  • Manage all incidents regarding your functional area
  • Administer and Manage Backup and Recovery functions for Unix-based Server environments.
  • Analyze, monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose operating environments to ensure system optimization, confidentiality, integrity, availability, and functionality are within parameters.
  • Secure your operating environment to maintain compliance with published guidelines.
  • Implement and sustain LDAP security
  • Monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Support Security Audits
  • Conduct continuous reviews for remediation tasks
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)::
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • At least ONE of the IAT level II certifications- Security+, CND, SSCP, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP or GSEC.
  • 5+ years of relevant UNIX system administration.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Unix scripting tools and languages including Bash, Perl, Bourne, Korn, etc. for automation purposes.
  • Great communication skills (to work well in a team environment).
  • Good Troubleshooting skills and knowledge of a troubleshooting methodology.
  • Knowledge Management skills to follow and create documentation.
  • Ability to configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Unix based items associated with file systems and Domain Name System (DNS)
  • Experience performing DISA STIG is a plus.
