The ideal candidate has an electrical engineer degree with eight or more years of experience with wireless communications systems, including cellular networks, TCP and UDP communications, and network protocol debugging experience. The candidate will also need hardware experience at the system level and an understanding of firmware and software development in support of cellular and backend server communications.
The candidate will be working for a rapidly growing business division within a large firm with revenues exceeding 20 billion dollars annually and will be the Company's first hire in this area. This individual will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Company's SIM card management process, including end-to-end life cycle orchestration communication issues, determining the root cause of the failures, and working in conjunction with the hardware and software development teams to resolve these issues and confirm performance improvements.
Experience working with Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) is preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have sufficient experience to develop advanced SQL database queries on various backend servers, developing scripting tools as needed for data analysis, and the ability to analyze large data sets programmatically.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute and monitor SIM Card Management Program for the Company.
- Responsible for working with MVNO partners to improve end-to-end operations.
- Identify and implement new innovative process improvements and automation opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with the hardware engineering and the software development team to identify and determine the root cause SIM card-related issues.
- Support cross-organization programs to reduce operational costs through innovation and automation
- Document and manage the issue resolution process, with multi-functional teams, from identification to implementation validation and improvement through the Company's quality management program
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- An electrical engineering degree with at least eight years experience with wireless system engineering
- Experience with data analysis such as scripting languages, Excel, and other data analysis tools
- Ability to pull data from SQL databases, with basic and more advanced AQL queries
- Experience with Azure databases
- Programming Experience: C#, Python, JavaScript, Java
- Experience Testing and Troubleshooting integrated systems, including network communications and Internet based software.
- Previous ISO 9001 work environment experience in the high volume manufacturing field
- Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience with wireless system engineering and cellular protocols (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, and LTE), as well as GPS and other GNSS systems.
- Experience with network-based computing systems, specifically USB, proxy servers, TCP/IP, and other machine-based communication protocols
- Team player with a "can-do" attitude, be self-motivated, and work with little supervision.
