Job Description:
As a Sr. Specialist, Software Engineer (DevOps) you will be helping to define the next generation of computing infrastructure and operational processes with a focus on automation tools. Design infrastructure and automated systems to support distributed architecture and develop tools to manage configuration and deployment of large program platforms. Help bootstrap the infrastructure to support agile processes with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
The Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division is a part of L3Harris’ Agile Development Group and specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Essential Functions:
- Help to create, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for various projects
- Administer Linux systems within automation frameworks
- Able to create and manage developer processes for using a full CI/CD pipeline in support of product development and operations, including integration activities.
- Continuous deployment and delivery to a variety of hardware baselines in an automated fashion
- Develop, administer, and maintain CI/CD tool suite
- Work with software engineers to create requirements for project development/build environments
- Administrate server backend (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as required
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Up to 10% travel may be required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- 6 years experience in software engineering and/or system administration
- 6 years experience in technologies leading and contributing to DevOps (e.g. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing, Container building, Artifact Management, Agile/Scrum)
- Experience with DevOps technologies such as virtualization, Docker, scripting, git, CI/CD, testing and automation
- Experience using common scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python)
- Experience with software development and deployment (source control, software build, software deployment and configuration)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active DoD clearance with current 6 year update desired
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
