The Digital Biology Group is a multidisciplinary team focused on developing innovative products using our core partitioning technology. Our ddPCR systems have enabled scientists around the world to make impactful discoveries in the life sciences and healthcare. This position will be responsible for development of reagents associated with an advanced molecular biology instrumentation platform. The ideal candidate will have experience with analytical technologies associated with molecular biology with an emphasis on commercial product development from concept through manufacturing. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the interdependencies that exist at the intersection of biology and technology and be able to work collaboratively with engineers. In addition to a strong molecular biology background, the ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, a desire for continued learning, and be able to work in a dynamic, timeline-driven, team environment focused on making a positive impact on the life sciences and healthcare industries.
- Designs and conducts well controlled experiments leading to the successful completion of product development phases.
- Analyzes data with an eye for solving technical challenges.
- Develops and writes product specifications and quality metrics with cross functional priorities.
- Develops Verification/Validation protocols and documents findings.
- Successfully interacts with various functional roles (including Marketing, Project Managers, Software Engineers, Computational Biologists, Biostatisticians, QA, RA, and Manufacturing).
- Maintains knowledge of scientific literature and expertise in technology and data analysis methods related to the position.
- Participates and/or present technical results at internal and/or external scientific meetings and author industry publications or other marketing collateral.
- Monitors milestones and reports progress.
- Trains new team members in standard or current techniques and protocols.
- May support/lead smaller projects, including development of project plans and timelines.
- May provide guidance on the daily activities of junior technical staff including design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
- Adheres to established laboratory guidelines and safety criteria.
- Maintains well documented laboratory notebook.
- Maintains laboratory facilities and instrumentation.
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelors, Master’s, PhD, in related discipline (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of related scientific discipline e.g., biochemistry, biology, chemistry, and/or assay development techniques and scientific literature relevant to the position.
- Experience with analytical molecular biology technologies, experience with digital PCR a plus.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and fluent with computer techniques and software used for data entry and analysis (Python, MatLab, JMP or other data analysis platform experience preferable).
- Experience writing plans, reports, and SOPs.
- Experience in product development in an ISO: 13485 quality system.
- Strong organizational, written/oral communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team, knowledge of other disciplines related to product development a plus.
- Familiar with project management and project tracking techniques and tools.
- Ability to learn rapidly, exhibit independent analytical thinking, and troubleshoot complex issues at the junction between biology and technology.

- Approximate base pay range of $74,400 - $111,600
- 4% annual bonus
- This position is on-site, but hybrid eligible.
