Baker Electric is hiring a Sr. Project Manager in our Los Angeles office. Located in Cerritos, our LA office focuses on new Construction - Commercial, Public Works, Education, and more! Our group is growing, winning work, and we need your help!

As a Sr. Project Manager for the Construction group you'll work on some of the largest, most complex projects in the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Oversee the completion of construction in accordance with the Contract Documents and prevailing building codes. Ensure compliance with all contract documents.
  • Ensure all project-associated Baker Electric employees follow and understand Baker Electric’s interpretation of the project’s specifications and contract documents.
  • Complete financial responsibility for the project.
  • Responsible to produce a complete and accurate lighting package (fixtures, lighting control, etc.) bill of material based upon a complete recount.
  • Responsible to produce a complete and accurate bill of material for all major equipment purchases based upon your own review.
  • Responsible to completely and accurately “scope” all subcontracted items of the project to ensure compliance and completeness with the contract documents (low voltage systems, excavation, testing services etc.), negotiate the terms and conditions of the subcontract and create and issue complete subcontracts to the selected subcontractors.
  • Prepare accurate and supportable change request estimates as required by the Owner.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of all logs and project associated tracking tools.
  • Become the “Company Expert” of all areas of the Project’s General and Special Conditions.
  • Discuss manpower requirements at least weekly with the Superintendents. Monitor crew rates and crew sizes as they relate to budgets.
  • Monitor job progress, assist in cost to complete estimates, and man-hour to complete estimates as needed.
  • Anticipate and communicate potential long lead item delays to prevent possible disruptions in the production schedule.
  • Participate in final contract negotiations and facilitate Project Developers with closing deals, when required.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL – EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred (Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical project management or combined construction management, estimating, and project management
  • PMP “Project Management Professional” or CPM “Certified Project Manager” a plus
  • Successful graduation of I.B.E.W. Journeyman preferred
  • Proven experience being the Lead Project Manager on electrical projects within healthcare, airport, and/or education
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project, or other related Construction Management software
  • Exude key competencies, such as, strategic thinking, client focus, project management, and problem solving

Pay: $43.00 - $59.00 per hour
