As Sr. Product Manager for the Elkay Plumbing Division, lead the Expanded Markets strategy for Water Delivery products, focusing initially on Educational and Residential sectors. Create and successfully execute the long-term strategic roadmap and profitability of products, and lead a small product management team.
Specific duties include:
- Lead the organization in the development of a vision and strategic business plan for our product category or accounts in collaboration with other key cross-functional stakeholders.
- Serve as holistic organizational business expert and owner for their product category. This includes expert knowledge on Elkay, our competition, end-user insights, channel partner needs, market trends, market pricing, manufacturing methods and costs, our suppliers, etc.
- Identify and execute specific new product development projects and other key business initiatives in support of the strategic plan and business roadmap.
- Manage existing product line portfolio and recommend product changes, additions, discontinuations and cost reductions to produce best ongoing cost position
- Collaborate with the Director of Product Management in establishing and communicating prioritization of projects and initiatives based upon business needs.
- Lead organizational competitive intelligence efforts
- Clearly define and communicate product/project definition requirements to the cross-functional project teams.
- Design and proactively steward product assortments for optimal mix of features, benefits and price points that insure best competitive value at lowest possible cost.
- Collaborate with finance and senior business leaders in establishing financial targets and delivering to those targets.
- Establish and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with all functional areas within Elkay.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related studies is required; MBA preferred.
- 7+ years product management experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Prior channel marketing and / or sales experience a plus.
- Durable goods experience strongly preferred.
- Strategic “general manager” mindset essential. The ideal candidate will want to manage a business, not just products.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in the development launch of new products and other business initiatives a must.
- Ability to develop and present comprehensive business recommendations and proposals within the organization as well as to customers essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as excellent presentation skills. Ability to confidently and persuasively present to senior leadership team and key customers essential.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills required.
- Ability to collaborate across all levels and functions within the organization a must
