Overview
Intuitive manufactures complex medical robotic systems in Sunnyvale, CA. This position requires an extremely motivated individual with high capacity to learn, analyze and drive technical issues to closure in the manufacturing environment. It requires both a proactive mindset to build a strong technical understanding of the product/processes, and a high level of urgency to react to unplanned problems when they arise. About the role
As a manufacturing engineer, you will:
- Perform technical root cause analysis of trending manufacturing failures utilizing design documentation, manufacturing test data, system software tools, and a variety of lab / bench equipment.
- Lead cross-functional engineering team meetings to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Support the assembly, calibration and testing of robotic systems, with a focus on electrical components and embedded SW
- Perform regular analysis of factory data and use it to anticipate and solve manufacturing/quality problems.
- Deliver improvements in yield, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, testability, capacity, and cost, primarily for electrical and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
- This position is highly collaborative, and strong communication/presentation skills will provide visibility amongst the engineering, production, and management teams.
Required
- Minimum BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or equivalent.
- Proven proficiency with use of EE lab equipment including Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Power supplies, and Multimeters
- Strong ability to read electronic schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings
- Familiarity with prototyping using microcontrollers.
- Familiarity with Matlab and/or Python
- Candidate must be of high character and energy with focused attention to detail.
- “Self-starter” attitude and comfort in a hands-on environment, where he/she can demonstrate an ability to work with other engineers to influence product design to improve reliability.
- Strong Troubleshooting mind set - an ability to break down a system or process systematically and effectively into subparts to identify failures and troubleshoot to component level.
- Commitment to organized project/task tracking, and knowledge sharing using tools such as JIRA/Confluence.
