Job Posting Title Sr. Manager Device and Vehicle Controls

Job Description Summary A Sr. Manager of Software Controls Engineering provides direction and leadership to software controls engineers to build a best in class and innovative software controls engineering team. The manager must continually improve developmental processes and practices to increase rigor while evaluating alternative methods that allow for the proper program pace while containing cost. Involvement and review of program planning, technical solutions and risk mitigation is also expected. Strong people skills are required as interaction with Engineering Directors, Program Management, Business Area Managers and company leadership is expected.

Job Description
Provide oversight for a team of software controls engineers by:
Recruiting and motivating a team of talented Software Controls Engineers.
Working closely with team members by taking a hands-on approach to lead the execution of technology development into innovative products
Managing day-to-day performance of direct reports.
Providing mentorship and constructive feedback to direct reports on completion of goals.
Build robust and methodical engineering practices and processes.
Ensure software controls development, validation, and delivery are according to ISO26262 and ASPICE process guidelines.
Work with developers to create a maintainable and extensible product architecture.
Design, document and develop new features for new and existing products.
Able to carry a design task from concept to implementation.
Achieving new product development plan objectives, including meeting required technical specifications, meeting cost targets and delivering on schedule.
Assure the accuracy, clarity, internal integrity, consistency, and timeliness of all technical information submitted.
Drive continuous improvements into engineering processes and policies.
Provide interpretation, guidance and strategies on technologies and methodologies affecting product approvals, development and continued product compliance.
Provides technical leadership in engineering tool sets, usage, training, and efficiency of team.
Assessing and evaluating new and existing technologies that are opportunities or threats.
Provide updates/reports to senior management.
Work closely with relevant functional areas to achieve overall product development success (operations/manufacturing and quality, marketing and sales, customer service, finance, and technical support).

Required Skills and Education
BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Computer).
10+ years experience working in automotive software controls product development.
8+ years working with Matlab \ Simulink.
5+ years of experience working with OEM's.
Willing to travel 10-20%
Experience with embedded C.
Experience leading a software team.
Must possess a history of strong leadership and initiative
Strong understanding of all aspects of embedded software.
Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
Proven track record of continuous improvement
Experience with developing and or integrating AUTOSAR compliant software.
Experience with developing control systems that adhere to secure coding principles.
Experience with automotive communication, CAN, CANFD, FlexRay and Ethernet.
Experience with functional safety (ISO26262) and Automotive Cybersecurity.
Practical knowledge of ASPICE.
Experience developing real-time, embedded Systems.
Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
Proven track record of on-time deliveries, project management and customer satisfaction
Excellent problem-solving skills (root cause analysis experience)
Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
Demonstrated ability to develop, nurture and grow strong customer relationships
