Job Description

Position Overview

The position reporting to the Chief Operating Operator is primarily responsible for the management of strategic global suppliers to meet corporate quality, cost, and delivery goals. The individual will lead the organization through developing supplier sourcing strategies, leading cost negotiations, development of manufacturing supplier agreements, collaborating with Product Development and Operations functions to ensure sourced commodities meet the needs of the business commercial and technical needs.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Negotiate favorable strategic supplier contracts with best terms and conditions; manage contract compliance.
  • Develop long term supplier and commodity strategies which align with business goals (Inverters, Switch Gear, Other Power Electronics, Construction, Contract Manufacturers, ect).
  • Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and foster executive level relationships with strategic supplier partners.
  • Continuously research and monitor the global landscape for critical commodities.
  • Negotiate strategic supplier agreements and purchase order terms and conditions.
  • Identify critical strategic suppliers and conduct quarterly business reviews
  • Identify opportunities and effectively implement best practices and processes.
  • Build KPI-driven dashboards to track and report progress of critical commodities.
  • Implements strategic purchasing policies for supplier selection, supply base optimization and material procurement and techniques.
  • Support corporate and local policies and processes.
  • Interface with project engineering to understand and meet the requirements for project related critical materials.

Qualifications

The position requires:

  • Direct Experience in the Battery Energy Storage preferred but not required.
  • The position requires an expert understanding of global supply chain / logistics dynamics.
  • Ability to effectively understand and resolve complex supply chain challenges.
  • Able to communicate very effectively with many levels of management within the company (including the CEO/COO and Senior Leadership).


Education/Experience/Work Environment

  • BS in Business / Supply Chain / Operations Management / Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Ability to travel Domestically and Internationally as required.
  • 5-10 years’ senior level experience / expertise in strategic sourcing of Power Electronics, Contract Manufacturing, ect
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to take a proactive approach, multitask, establish priorities, and deliver within deadlines.
  • Expected Travel 20% - 30% of the time.
