About the role.
As a Sr. DevOps engineer, you will join a team of highly motivated DevOps and software engineers to develop tools as well as deliver cloud-scale infrastructure capacity for HashiCorp customers. Successful candidates will possess DevOps skills, software development, and project management delivery experience. The ideal candidate will be part of the team that solves infrastructure deployment issues with software, delivers high velocity and high-quality infrastructure in private as well as public data centers.
In this role.
- Tackle Infrastructure related problems with code as a subject matter expert and master building, running, and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead key projects in design, development, implementation strategy, and post-release support of the tools & automation that are used by a variety of internal teams at HashiCorp.
- Partake in leading the development and operations of HashiCorp on HashiCorp for Enterprise IT Infrastructure, interacting with a highly innovative & creative team of infrastructure engineers, architects, and leaders across the organization.
- Drive the automation efforts through Bash/Python/Go/APIs to eliminate manual work involved in building infrastructure, performing releases, and other operational work.
- Use the HashiCorp Cloud Platform and Terraform Cloud to monitor applications/infrastructure and implement self-healing mechanisms to auto-recover from outages.
- Work multi-functionally with various other Infrastructure and Security teams across HashiCorp.
A good fit for the team will have.
- 6+ years of proven experience working in a DevOps role (or similar) with domain expertise in automation, virtualization, and cloud engineering.
- Experience building, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines from scratch (e.g. GitHub actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Extensive experience with Linux Systems Administration/Solving, Servers, & Cloud architecture and DevOps technologies (i.e. Vagrant, Docker, GitHub, IaC tools etc.)
- Deep knowledge of HashiCorp product line with experience implementing Terraform, Consul, and Vault at Enterprise Scale
- Experience with Enterprise Productivity Infrastructure (Slack, Google Workspace, FreshService) with an attitude of automation and self-service in addition to knowledge/experience with version control systems, such as GitHub
- Coding/scripting and debugging experience for building and integrating systems & solutions (Bash, Python, GoLang, etc.)
- Public cloud engineering on GCP, AWS, and/or Azure platforms. Cloud provisioning, infrastructure, and migration at cloud scale with a strong understanding of fundamental network technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, SQL, HTTP, Switches, Routers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SME for CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
- In-depth, hands-on experience with Github Actions and GitOps
- Experience with GoLang as well as HashiCorp products, HCP and/or Enterprise On-prem
